Quality Content and Payments

Heartbeat says it pays creators monthly, by the 18th for the previous month, for quality content even if it gets no views, and more for views and watch time. Quality means meaningful titles, accurate start times and content you enjoy; bots are banned, AI help is allowed if you edit it.

Heartbeat says it pays creators every month for quality content, even content that gets no views, and pays more when that content gets views and watch time; quality, in its definition at h.ki/quality, means "Meaningful titles / Accurate start times / Variety of content you genuinely enjoy". h.ki/about states that payments are made "every month on the 18th" for the previous month, by bank transfer, PayPal or Payoneer, from your first piece of quality content. Everything on this page is Heartbeat's own account, attributed to the page or video that says it; the rates themselves are visible only to a signed-in creator.

What Heartbeat counts as quality

h.ki/quality defines quality content in three lines: "Meaningful titles", "Accurate start times" and "Variety of content you genuinely enjoy". For a moment, that means a title that says what happens and a start on the right frame (How to Make a Moment shows the controls for both).

In the June 2024 payday video, George Vanous lists the three ways to earn more: create quality content, get views to it, and get watch time, "three revenue streams" paid separately, so quality content earns "even if" it gets no views.

The reverse is stated as plainly: random moments made "just trying to game the system" earn nothing, and low-quality content is unlisted every day so the home page shows quality content.

Beyond moments, the videos name vikis (Vikis), photos (Heartbeat Photos), riddles and trivia (Riddles and Trivia) as content that counts.

No bots; AI help allowed

h.ki/about states "No automation or bots allowed": an account that makes content by script is "blacklisted as a spammer". Using AI to assist is "great and encouraged, but edit it yourself".

The June 2024 video names the reason: spammers "use algorithms and bots to try to create massive amounts of moments in the hope of getting paid", and some were blacklisted that month. Its slogan is "Heartbeat is for humans", the same words h.ki/about opens with.

How and when you are paid

h.ki/about says payments go out "every month on the 18th", worded elsewhere on the page as "by the 18th for the previous month", by bank transfer, PayPal or Payoneer.

The Nov 1, 2024 video says the same: "we pay each month on the 18th for the previous month", and earnings show in Heartbeat Studio.

The first payment was in February 2024, according to the Oct 7, 2024 video.

h.ki/about contrasts this with YouTube's Partner Program, which asks for 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours before paying (see YouTube Partner Program on youtube.vi.ki): Heartbeat says it pays from the first piece of quality content. It also notes that a moment embeds the YouTube video, so "1 view on Heartbeat is 1 view on YouTube!".

Set up payments and see your earnings

To get paid, add your payment details: in Heartbeat Studio, the Earn page has a Set up now button (Nov 17, 2024 video).

Studio's Analytics shows your views, watch time and followers ("we don't call them subscribers"), and the Earn page holds the payment method and invitations to friends.

Studio is in h.ki's sidebar when you are signed in; Analytics > Revenue lists what you earned by month. Signed out, none of this is visible (Sign-in and Accounts).

Why pay for content with no views?

George Vanous's answer, Jun 16, 2024: "we're not a charity we're a business", and the model is a book publisher paying an author before the book sells, betting the content will earn its views later.

The Apr 1, 2025 video adds that surfacing quality content to an audience is "the job of the platform", working with the creator: Heartbeat brings the first views, and pays from the first day.

The same June 2024 video describes the view stream as "55% of ad revenue" generated around your content, a watch-time stream, and a fourth payment, a "manually assigned quality bonus" for extra effort. These terms are from that video; h.ki/about, read Nov 7, 2026, states no rate, so check Heartbeat Studio for what applies now.

What we think

We think paying for quality rather than only for views is the most distinctive thing about Heartbeat, and the rule that makes it work is the one about start times: an accurate start is something an editor can check, unlike "good" in general. The limit we see is that the bar is judged by Heartbeat, by hand, and the rates are not published on any public page, so a new creator cannot know what a month's work will earn before signing in. Compared with YouTube's threshold, the entry is far lower; compared with YouTube's published revenue shares, it is far less documented.
