Share and Loop a Moment

Share on a Heartbeat moment page opens a "Share a moment" dialog with X, Facebook and Email buttons, a link to copy, and two switches, Moment title and Loop; Loop is on by default and adds ?play=loop to the link.

To share a Heartbeat moment, press Share under the video on its moment page and copy the link, or send it straight to X, Facebook or email; George Vanous showed sharing "any moment" this way in "Heartbeat features - No fluff" (Dec 25, 2023). On Nov 7, 2026 the dialog, titled "Share a moment", also carried a Loop switch, on by default, which adds ?play=loop to the link.

Anyone can share: the button worked for a signed-out visitor on Nov 7, 2026, and the person who opens the link needs no account either. What the link opens is described in Moment Pages.

The Share a moment dialog

Part What it does
X, Facebook, Email Open a post or an email with the link
Link box with Copy Copies the moment's address, such as https://h.ki/morxesfsh?play=loop
Moment title Adds the moment's title on a line above the link, so the message says what it shows
Loop On by default; adds ?play=loop to the link; off leaves the plain address

In "No video ads! - YouTube vs Heartbeat - h.ki" (Nov 12, 2023), George shared a moment "with friends and family" from the same menu, by posting to Facebook or Twitter (now X) or copying the link "and paste it in any WhatsApp instant message, Discord chat". The dialog has changed since those videos, where sharing sat in a three-dot menu; on Nov 7, 2026 it was its own Share button with the switches above.

Loop, and ?play=loop

Loop is the dialog's one setting that changes what the person receiving the link sees. The link carries ?play=loop, as in https://h.ki/morxesfsh?play=loop, while switching Loop off gives just https://h.ki/morxesfsh. No public page of Heartbeat's explains what the parameter does beyond its name, and the moment pages we looked at on Nov 7, 2026 have no end time (a moment marks where something starts), so we did not see what part of the video it repeats. Since the switch is on unless you turn it off, most moment links shared from the dialog carry it.

You can add or remove ?play=loop by hand in a link you already copied: the address before it is the moment's own page either way.

Share the moment you mean

The dialog shares the moment playing when you press Share, not necessarily the one the page opened on. A moment page keeps playing into the video's next moments, and the highlighted row in the list moves with it. On Nov 7, 2026, a page opened on one moment offered h.ki/mojhvpfaj?play=loop at one press of Share and h.ki/mof2aa422 at a later one, as the video had moved on. To share a particular moment, click it in the list first (or pause on it), then press Share, and check the code after h.ki/ in the link box.

Each moment's link differs: George pointed out in a Jul 13, 2025 video that "every time you click a different moment, you get a different hash", and that the link "will play that moment from that exact start time".

Other ways to pass a moment on

  • Copy the address bar: a moment page's address is the moment's own link, h.ki/mo..., the same as the dialog's with Loop off.
  • Copy as viki: the three-dot menu under the player copies the moment in a form a viki accepts, for writing about it (Vikis).
  • Copy as YouTube Chapters: the list's More menu copies a video's moments as a timestamp list for a YouTube description (Video Pages).
  • A whole list: share a playlist's address, h.ki/li... (Playlists).

For a link to a second of any YouTube video without making a moment first, see Link to an Exact Moment.

What we think

We think the default Loop is a sensible choice for the way moments are used, since the person you send a funny line or a goal to usually wants to see it again, but it is also the one part of the dialog that is not explained anywhere a visitor can read. The behavior to watch for is the dialog following the playhead: it is easy to share the wrong moment if the video has moved on, so we check the code in the link box every time. Compared with YouTube's own Share, whose "Start at" box makes a plain timestamp link, a Heartbeat link carries a title and a page of its own, but only once someone has made the moment.

Frequently asked questions

How do I share a Heartbeat moment?

Open the moment, press Share under the video, and press Copy, or choose X, Facebook or Email. The person you send it to does not need an account.

It is what the dialog's Loop switch adds to the link, on by default. Heartbeat does not document it publicly beyond the switch's name; turn Loop off for the plain address.

Why did Share give me a different moment?

The dialog shares the moment that is playing when you press it. If the video has moved into the next moment, click the one you want in the list first.

Can I share a moment with its title?

Yes. The "Moment title" switch puts the moment's title on a line above the link in what you copy or post.
